The highest degree in FFA is the American Degree, a national-level honor that caps the progression through the organization’s recognitions. It signifies sustained FFA involvement, extensive leadership experiences, a strong SAE (supervised agricultural experience) and service record, and usually several years of membership. The state degree sits below it, awarded by a state association once criteria are met, while Discovery and Greenhand are earlier, entry-level recognitions for younger or new members. So, the American Degree is the top, national-level recognition.
